Distribution SCADA -
Stanford
University electrical power supply is from an on campus 50 MW
co-generation facility. The cogeneration plant is directly connected to
the Stanford owned 69kV substation which is also interconnected with
PG&E's transmission. Approximately 24 MW is supplied to the campus
buildings with the balance being sold to PG&E. A 42 MVA
distribution system, (12kV and 4kV) distributes power throughout the
campus and is operated and maintained by the university facility
operations utilities high voltage departments. APT helped develop and
implement the campus SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
system which provides metering for billing and cost allocation,
distribution system status and alarming for the high volt shop, power
quality monitoring for critical facilities, load flow information for
engineering and planning, etc. In addition, APT provides ongoing
support under contract. Stanford
